The Americannot.

The American. Anton Corbijn. The photographer made nice images. Anton Corbijn made sure he had a medium plot that never really surprises you except when he kills the woman in the first act (which was done by many directors before him, but ok, we give Corbijn a +1 for trying). The problem is that the script really never gets beyond a simple story and all the Corbijn imagery does not hide the fact that it is a pretentious movie. Corbijn paying homage to Sergio Leone (The GrandMaster) is not a homage but a plea to show his influences and attempt to show how much he knows about movies. (personal note: I like the lack of extras in the movie) (2010)
