El Alamein – In the line of fire. Enzo Monteleone. I like war movies. This one had a lot of promise being an Italian movie since it helps when Hollywood is not involved but in this case, there were some essential movie making lessons dearly missed. Although the actors perform well, and the story is straight, the final product is not love and not war. It lacks the grit of desolate, desperate, devastated warmovies and it lacks the warmth about relationships in war. I would advice you to watch it, but be careful to expect too much. I guess it was like the italians in the war. Opportunistic and not committed to any side unless they are winning. (2002)
