The remake of courage.

The red badge of courage. John Huston. This is a weird movie. You can clearly see that John Huston is a brilliant director. The scenes remain elegant and strong but they lack the depth that Huston wanted to give it due to the studio cutting into the feature length version. I think the time the movie takes to tell the story is too short, and if a re-cut version would come, I doubt it would be any better or more watchable. Honestly, watch the movie since it is John Huston but sign a petition for the remake. I think this movie deserves a remake at the level of Sean Penn’s or Terence Malick’s talent. I know the novel upon which it is based is considered an American great and I reckon that with a treatment that is based on current times and moviemaking (and taking the late John Huston into its consideration), it would be a brilliant – Oscar winning – movie.
